ZF steering and rigid axles provide ground contact for even the most
adventurous designs. You could say that they place firm ground under any
vehicle concept.
Using finite element design methods (FEM) we have been able to design
considerably slimmer, lighter axle housings without losing stability and
strength. Indeed, the reverse is true: critical areas subject to peak
stresses have been carefully reinforced to enable axle housings to withstand
the greatest loads.
Axle components such as wheel ends, axle inserts and steering cylinders
have been optimized in terms of efficiency and reliability. High ratios in
the planetary drives have enabled us to implement compact axle inserts,
thereby increasing ground clearance. Additional options such as thru-drives,
locking systems and integral low-maintenance brake systems combine to offer
superior levels of performance under all conceivable conditions. |
